Regulations
It implements Article 24 of the Spanish Occupational Risk Prevention Act. When people from several companies work at the same site, all of them must coordinate to prevent risks.
Companies sharing a site inform each other of the risks of their work that may affect the others, before starting and whenever they change.
The owner of the site informs of its risks and emergency measures and gives instructions to the other companies.
The main company must check that its contractors and subcontractors comply: risk assessment, training, information and fitness of their staff.
What is at stake: failing to coordinate is a serious or very serious offence under the Spanish Social Order Offences and Penalties Act, with fines that can reach hundreds of thousands of euros, and the main company can be held jointly liable for its contractors’ breaches. Coorvia records every request, review and message so you can prove you coordinated.
